Girls 10U-15U Co-op Program

The co-op program is a partnership between the Capitals and the Roseville Area Youth Hockey Association. Our partnership allows girls to play with other girls of similar abilities, allowing coaches to tailor practices for each players’ ability level. Although only a few years old, the SPR co-op teams have been some of the most competitive teams in the state. All players will go through evaluations. Depending on player numbers and skill at the different levels, we may host AA, A, B1, B, B2 and C teams at each age level.

Ages

This program is for players age 9 through 15.

When

Evaluations are typically held the first week of October with practices starting immediately following team selections. The season goes through February. 15U players evaluations will be held after high school tryouts at the beginning of November.

Where

The "home" rink for our girls co-op program is Oscar Johnson Arena. Practices are also equally split between Oscar Johnson, Highland Arena in St. Paul and the Roseville Arena.

Practices

The number of practices varies depending on the level and game schedule. 10U players typically practice 3-4 times per week, 12U players typically practice 4-5 times per week , 15U players typically practices 5-6 times per week. We do not run a set schedule, so players can practice any day of the week. Practices are typically held no earlier than 5:20pm on weekdays. Younger levels usually practice earlier and older players typically practice later in the evening.

Games

Teams in the program play full-ice games. Each level is scheduled for 16 district games. In addition to district games, coaches and managers will schedule scrimmages and each team will play in at least two tournaments during the season.

Jerseys

Players in this program must purchase our club jerseys and socks. You can find more information about this under our Resources tab. Jersey and sock orders are taken during registration.

Additional Costs

Your team manager maintains a team bank account to cover expenses such as referee fees for scrimmages, additional tournaments beyond the two each team is allotted and any additional expenses the team manager/coach may anticipate. At the start of the season each family will be asked for a deposit to get that account started. The amount varies by team, but is typically $100-$200.
